Overview

Manages chemistry, lab testing, wastewater and equipment affecting the process lines, including the purchasing and maintenance of all chemicals and/or equipment as needed.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manages the Chemistry Team regarding controls of process chemistry and production troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of process is critical and must be related to the effects of bath chemistry and physical parameters.
  • On call for chemical emergencies after regularly scheduled work hours.
  • Manages and monitors waste water treatment systems.
  • Participates in the coordination of tank maintenance.
  • Works with Production to adjust chemical performances for specific customer needs.
  • Performs monthly and quarterly process specification testing.
  • Reporting of production line status to operational leadership.
  • Establishing KPI’s of direct reports and departments.
  • Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.

 Physical/Environmental/Chemical Hazards

  •  Sharp parts, sharp tooling, heavy carts, occasional hot and cold temperature and humidity levels, heat from ovens, moderate noise levels, limited hand and air tool use, compressed air (must use hearing protection).
  • Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to differentiate between color variance.
  • Potential splash exposure near process lines.
  • Various chemicals used in process.

Education/Qualifications

  • 3 years of Management Experience in Chemistry, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelors in Chemistry or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience in metal finishing preferred but not required.
