Overview

Job Summary

Responsible for daily chemical analysis and adds, chemical makeups, maintenance, quality testing, paint and calibration of instrumentation and equipment, transportation of chemicals to appropriate areas, cleaning and organizing chemical storage areas and tank maintenance duties. This role operates within an active chemical process environment, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and comfort working with chemical reactions, equipment, and materials on a routine basis.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities

· Responsible for all pH adjustments.

· Executes the dumping, replenishing and decanting of chemical and rinse tanks.

· Daily chemical sampling and analysis.

· Use of statistical data control required for monitoring and improving chemical processes.

· Maintain inventory of laboratory chemicals/supplies and Paint.

· Maintain organization and cleanliness of laboratory.

· Inventory and organization of process chemicals, storage areas and Paint.

· Monitoring waste treatment system.

· Light Environmental Management

· Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.


Physical/Environmental/Chemical Hazards

· Sharp parts, sharp tooling, heavy carts, occasional hot and cold temperature and humidity levels, heat from ovens, moderate noise levels, hand and air tool use, compressed air (must use hearing protection).

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.

· Must be able to maneuver a full drum or barrel of chemical that varies in weight. (est. 500-700lbs)

· Must successfully complete respiratory fit testing.

Education/Qualifications

· High School diploma required

· College-level chemistry credits or relevant laboratory or chemical industry experience preferred.

· Strong math aptitude needed.

· Strong oral and written communication skills.
