Job Summary
Evaluates order information and product attributes to develop comprehensive work instructions for successful processing of material. Responsible for accurate assessment and disposition of nonconforming material. Works closely with Production, Sales and Customer Service to facilitate initial processing or salvage operations. Provides assistance and direction with process capability and trouble shooting issues.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8 hour days
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Daily chemical sampling and analysis.
- Light Environmental Management.
- Responsible for all pH adjustments.
- Executes the dumping and replenishing of chemical and rinse tanks.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory chemicals/supplies and Paint (OSH).
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of laboratory.
- Inventory and organization of process chemicals and storage areas.
- Participating and/or facilitating in the Corrective Action process.
- Perform internal audits and participate in external audits, as needed
- Participate in Customer conference calls and visits when needed
- Participate in formal customer corrective actions, as needed
- Respond to requests for assistance from Production, Pricing, and Customer Service.
- Manage inquiries in a timely manner.
- Develop, select and enter process programs and correlating work instructions into the computer system.
- Assist in answering sales and customer questions or concerns pertaining to process and finishing requirements.
- Assist in troubleshooting process problems as they relate to product quality & chemistry.
- Daily coordination of, and participation in processing, testing and disposition of rework material.
- Review documentation and certify outgoing product.
- Assist with the Document Control process
- Must be able to operate a forklift.
- Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and walk up and down stairs several times per day.
- Must be able to occasionally lift parts up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to operate a forklift.
- Must be able to maneuver a full drum or barrel of chemical that varies in weight. (est. 500-700lbs)
- Must successfully complete respiratory fit testing.
- 50% of a day is spent stationary or on the computer with split responsibilities in Quality and Chemistry
- 50% of a day is spent walking or standing with split responsibilities in Quality and Chemistry
Education/Qualifications
- An Associate’s Degree in Quality or related field is preferred.
- Metal finishing experience and demonstrated organization and decision-making skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
