Overview

Are you ready to lead innovation at the intersection of chemistry and manufacturing?
We’re looking for a dynamic leader to manage our Chemistry and Lab Operations in the Portland Division — someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves solving complex problems, and is passionate about driving continuous improvement.

What You’ll Own

  • Lead and inspire the Chemistry Team, ensuring tight control of process chemistry and fast response to production challenges.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement (CI) across lab, production, and quality functions.
  • Be the go-to expert on Anodize processes, understanding how bath chemistry and physical parameters impact performance.
  • Collaborate with our Corporate Technologies team to stay ahead of the curve on best practices and emerging tech.
  • Oversee and optimize Wastewater Treatment systems, ensuring proactive support for production needs.
  • Coordinate tank maintenance and chemical adjustments to meet specific customer requirements.
  • Conduct and report on monthly/quarterly process spec testing, driving accountability and action plans for compliance.
  • Report production line status to operational leadership and track KPIs for Lab Techs and Chemistry teams.
  • Be available for chemical emergencies after hours — because leadership doesn’t clock out.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of management experience in chemistry, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (preferred).
  • Experience in metal finishing is a plus — but not required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to sharp parts, heavy carts, hot/cold temps, and moderate noise.
  • Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs unassisted and differentiate color variance.
  • Occasional splash exposure near process lines and use of various chemicals.

Why Join Us?

This isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to lead a team that directly impacts product quality, environmental safety, and customer satisfaction. You’ll be part of a company that values innovation, teamwork, and continuous growth.
