  • Are you passionate about creating a safe and sustainable workplace? Join Pioneer Metal Finishing, North America’s leading surface engineering company, as our EHS Leader in the Portland Division. In this role, you’ll champion a culture of safety, lead environmental compliance efforts, and help ensure our team operates in a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible environment.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with our Corporate Safety & Environmental Leader to implement and maintain safety and environmental programs that meet federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Lead training initiatives to educate employees and supervisors on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor and respond to physical, chemical, and biological hazards, developing action plans to reduce risk.
  • Conduct audits, maintain records, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
  • Serve as a key contact for regulatory agencies and support emergency response planning.
  • Supervise the divisional pollution control team and collaborate with HR on training, performance, and return-to-work programs.
  • Drive monthly safety meetings and promote a safety-first culture across all levels of the organization.

 

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field, or equivalent industrial experience.
  • 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Industrial wastewater experience or education preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and collaborate across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

 

 

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Exposure to sharp tools, heavy carts, heat, noise, and chemicals.
  • Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs unassisted.
  • Use of PPE required in certain areas.
