Overview

Job Summary

 

Assist in daily operations of the blasting department, assuring quality of products, and aiding in the coordination and completion of department operations to meet production needs.

 

Primary Functions and Responsibilities

  • Inspects all products staged for finishing prior to moving to the next department; allocating parts for blasting process if needed.
  • Process necessary parts through blasting equipment safely and effectively, ensuring surface quality of raw parts before sending them to next department.
  • Maintain blasting equipment and collaborate with maintenance team as appropriate for equipment repairs.
  • Understands how to use specialized equipment such as blasters.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Key Objectives

  • Facilitates consistency by ensuring all processes and procedures are followed appropriately for all assigned areas.
  • Contributes to safety by keeping work areas and equipment clean, responding accordingly to alarms, and escalating situations as outlined by facility guidelines and practices.
  • Supports all staff in assigned areas by completing necessary documentation, aiding teammates where able, and communicating effectively at all levels of the organization.

 

Work Environment

  • Sharp parts & tooling, heavy carts, occasional temperature fluctuations and humidity changes, heat from ovens, moderate noise levels, limited hand and air tool use, and compressed air (must use hearing protection).
  • Ability to lift 30-50 lbs. unassisted, kneel, bend, and twist repeatedly.
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours a day and be able to push and pull wheeled carts.

 Education/Qualifications

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Some math skills.
  • Chemical processes and usage.
