Pioneer Metal Finishing is seeking a dedicated and proactive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Leader to drive a culture of safety and environmental compliance across our operations. This role partners closely with the Corporate Safety & Environmental Leader to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace for employees, visitors, and contractors.

 

The EHS Leader will play a key role in implementing safety programs, leading training initiatives, overseeing environmental compliance, and supporting continuous improvement efforts within the facility.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with our Corporate Safety & Environmental Leader to implement and maintain safety and environmental programs that meet federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Lead training initiatives to educate employees and supervisors on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety-first culture across all levels of the organization
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations at the federal, state, and local levels
  • Develop, implement, and deliver EHS policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Lead incident investigations and partner with HR on workers' compensation, return-to-work, and modified duty programs
  • Monitor and respond to physical, chemical, and biological hazards, developing action plans to reduce risk.
  • Conduct audits, maintain records, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
  • Serve as a key contact for regulatory agencies and support emergency response planning.
  • Supervise the divisional pollution control team and collaborate with HR on training, performance, and return-to-work programs.
  • Drive monthly safety meetings and promote a safety-first culture across all levels of the organization.

 

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field, or equivalent industrial experience.
  • 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Industrial wastewater experience or education preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and collaborate across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

  

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Exposure to sharp tools, heavy carts, heat, noise, and chemicals.
  • Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs unassisted.
  • Use of PPE required in certain areas.
